Terms of use

Last updated 31 August 2026

By uploading a receipt you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.

1. What this is

Counter Price compares a food delivery receipt against the prices the same restaurant charges at its own counter, and shows you the difference. It is operated by Siddharth Gupta in New South Wales. Contact: sunnyday130826@gmail.com.

It is free. There is no account and nothing to buy.

2. How accurate the numbers are

This is the part worth reading. Our counter prices are collected by hand — from photographs of menu boards, restaurants’ own pickup ordering pages, and printed menus. That means:

Treat every figure as an informed estimate, not a statement of fact about what any particular restaurant charges today. Do not rely on it for anything that matters, and please do not present it to a restaurant as proof of anything.

3. We are not connected to anyone named on this site

Counter Price is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or acting for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Menulog, or any restaurant, chain or franchise whose prices appear here. Their names and trade marks belong to them and are used only to identify the business being described.

If you are a restaurant and a price we show for you is wrong, email us and we will correct or remove it. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.

4. Your side of it

5. What you let us do with what you send

When you upload a receipt you give us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use the price information in it — item names, prices, fees, discounts, totals, the store and the platform — including to publish, license or sell aggregate and store-level price data derived from it.

That licence covers price information only. It does not extend to anything that identifies you, and we do not sell or share personal information. The receipt image itself is never stored — we could not license it if we wanted to. See the privacy page for the detail.

You keep whatever rights you had in your receipt. We are not claiming ownership of it.

6. Availability

The service may be slow, unavailable, or limited in how many receipts it can read in a day. It is run by one person. We may change it or shut it down at any time without notice.

7. Liability

Counter Price is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it or from reliance on a figure it produced.

Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, it is limited to resupplying the service.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction.
